Reference Solid Gold/Platinum Hybrid Interconnect So if the solid pure gold was so perfect, why would I have developed a premium Hybrid too? Because we all do have different tasted and aspect we are looking for in our systems. The Hybrid provides a deeper cleaner bass, and a bit more shimmer and high frequency energy. The difference of platinum from silver, which has the same extension characteristics is platinum has no glare, grain or haze. In fact the all platinum cables I tried were so pure, open extended and clean that if you want more high frequency in a system and you like silver for this reason, then you might want me to try adding more platinum to the positive, which will provide more high end extension. Basically platinum is a smoother, cleaner more liquid than silver's sound if I was to generalize. The reason I brought gold into the cable was for the brass and percussion tonality. As I have found in silver, the brass just sounds wrong without gold. I recommend the Reference Hybrid for systems with softer bass and warmer presentation looking for added detail and clarity. |
